Islamic Relief is calling on our supporters to help us provide much-needed humanitarian aid.For over a year, Palestinian families in Gaza have struggled to survive under relentless Israeli bombardment and siege. Since the unprecedented escalation began in early October 2023, the people of Gaza have been bombed, starved, and displaced.Tightening its blockade of the enclave, Israel has caused severe shortages of food, water, medicine and fuel, leaving every sector in Gaza – from healthcare to sewage collection – unable to meet the ever-growing demands placed upon them.Israel is using starvation as a weapon of war and Gaza is now on the verge of famine, with 1 in 10 young children acutely malnourished and people starving to deathMore than 90% of the population has become displaced, with many families forced to flee several times in search of safety, but there is nowhere safe to go.More than 60% of Gaza’s residential buildings have been damaged or destroyed, hospitals and schools are being attacked and most areas are littered with unexploded ordnance.Islamic Relief is calling for an immediate ceasefire and an end to Israel’s siege. International law must be upheld and those found to have violated it must be held to account.
